Please join Jessica DuLong and Pamela Talese for a special RUST/RIVER event, a reading/launch party/exhibition celebrating DuLong’s first book. At 6:30pm, sharp, DuLong will read from MY RIVER CHRONICLES: REDISCOVERING AMERICA ON THE HUDSON, surrounded by the plein-air paintings of Talese’s exhibition: RUST NEVER SLEEPS: Corrosion and Renewal in Maritime/Industrial New York, in which she investigates industrial New York featuring the vessels, factories, and public buildings in and around the Brooklyn Navy Yard, where Talese has been painting since 2005.
The New York Times‘s Roberta Smith wrote of Talese’s work: “The subjects have all seen better days, but the images are not nostalgic … They record places of honest work in part by exemplifying it.”
Books will be on sale, courtesy of Mobile Libris.
