Reclaiming Story (and Joy!) in The Age of Data, Noise, and Fear

Humans are hardwired for story. Leveraging the connectivity of well-crafted narratives can help us remedy division, disinformation, AI obtrusion, climate inaction—and even the targeting of journalists as “enemies of the people.” By drawing upon the singularly human elements of story, we can cultivate the cooperation (and joy!) necessary to meet this moment in history. We can remind ourselves of the existential connection between us and the natural world. We can galvanize new collective responses to crises so that the human superpowers of creativity, empathy, and storytelling can, once again, transform civilizations and reshape our planet
